Wound Management for Veterinary Professionals

The following Wound Management for Veterinary Professionals training is designed to educate veterinary professionals on the core principles of wound assessment, contamination identification, infection risk recognition, and ongoing wound care in veterinary settings.

What you will learn:

• Differentiate between acute and chronic wounds

• Identify contamination, foreign material, and devitalized tissue

• Apply proper wound cleaning and early management strategies

• Recognize signs of infection and delayed healing

• Document and reassess wounds to monitor progression

• Understand bandaging principles and ongoing wound monitoring

• Apply OSHA safety practices to reduce occupational exposure risk

• Understand FDA oversight and basics of extra-label drug use
