  • Identify evidence-based treatment options for SUD, including medications, behavioral therapies, and recovery supports.

  • Implement SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) appropriately in clinical or community care settings.

  • Recognize the role of harm reduction strategies, including naloxone distribution, in preventing overdose and reducing health risks.

  • Explain key legal, ethical, and compliance considerations related to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 when caring for patients with SUD.
