Safe Practices for Community Work Training helps healthcare providers learn how to safely and effectively work in community settings by recognizing risks, applying trauma-informed practices, maintaining professional boundaries, and responding appropriately to emergencies while prioritizing personal safety.

• Identify environmental, interpersonal, and situational risks commonly encountered in community-based fieldwork.

• Apply ongoing risk assessment strategies before, during, and after community visits.

• Demonstrate trauma-informed communication techniques that promote safety, trust, and empowerment.

• Maintain professional boundaries and recognize when it is appropriate to disengage from a situation.

• Respond appropriately to medical, environmental, and behavioral emergencies while prioritizing personal safety and following organizational protocols.
