Radiation Safety for Veterinary Radiography & Imaging

The following Radiation Safety for Veterinary Radiography and Imaging is designed to educate veterinary team members on recognizing radiation exposure risks, planning safe imaging setups, using ALARA principles, following equipment-specific procedures, applying protective controls, reporting unsafe conditions, and supporting safe documentation practices in veterinary imaging settings.

What you will learn:

• How to recognize radiation exposure risks during veterinary imaging procedures

• How useful beam, scatter, distance, shielding, and time affect worker safety

• How to plan patient positioning, staff placement, and exposure-area control before imaging

• When to pause work, report concerns, follow approved procedures, and document radiation safety issues

Once completed, you will receive a certificate of completion to verify you have finished the training. Course Length: 60 minutes.
