The following Mastering Electronic Health Record (EHR) Proficiency Training is designed to educate healthcare providers (HCP) on how to effectively use Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to improve documentation accuracy, clinical efficiency, and compliance with federal standards. This course helps HCPs enhance their understanding of EHR functionality, data integrity, and regulatory requirements while strengthening patient safety and care coordination.

What you will learn:

• Introduction to Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and their role in modern healthcare

• Federal standards and regulations governing EHR systems under CMS and HHS

• The HITECH Act, Promoting Interoperability Program, and Certified EHR Technology (CEHRT)

• HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and the Security Risk Assessment Tool

• Understanding and preventing information blocking under the 21st Century Cures Act

• Clinical decision support and interoperability best practices

• Maintaining data integrity, security, and compliance with CMS documentation standards

• Navigating and documenting effectively within EHR platforms

• Practical strategies to enhance workflow efficiency and safeguard patient information
