The following Infection Control Training for Veterinary Providers is designed to educate veterinary professionals on the core principles of infection prevention and control.

What you will learn:

• Understand the core principles of infection prevention and control and how standard precautions help protect animal patients, veterinary personnel, clients, and visitors.

• Identify appropriate hand hygiene methods and apply them correctly based on the situation and level of infection risk.

• Apply respiratory hygiene, masking, and animal patient placement practices to help reduce the spread of infectious diseases.

• Recognize proper cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and safe injection practices used to help reduce the risk of healthcare-associated or facility-associated infections in veterinary settings.
