The following HIPAA Basics for Healthcare Recruiters Training is designed to educate healthcare recruiters to recognize protected health information, understand basic HIPAA privacy expectations, and make appropriate decisions regarding the sharing of sensitive information encountered during recruitment activities.

What you will learn:

• Recognize the basic purpose of HIPAA and when privacy protections apply during recruitment activities.

• Identify examples of protected health information that may be encountered during the hiring process.

• Differentiate information that may be appropriately shared from information that should remain confidential.

• Apply basic privacy principles when communicating with candidates, healthcare organizations, and internal stakeholders.

• Respond appropriately when uncertain whether information may be disclosed.
