The following Introduction to Tracheostomy Care course is designed to educate healthcare providers (HCP) on the foundational principles, procedures, complications, and ongoing care associated with tracheostomies to enhance patient safety, airway management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
What you will learn:

Indications and contraindications for emergent and elective tracheostomy

Anatomy, procedural steps, and techniques for open and percutaneous tracheostomy

Early, late, and intraoperative complications and appropriate management strategies

Essential tracheostomy care, including suctioning, humidification, and tube maintenance

Communication strategies and patient education for individuals with tracheostomies

Regulatory and documentation requirements related to tracheostomy care and supplies
Once completed, you will receive a certificate of completion. Course length: 45 Minutes; CME: 0.75.
