• Identify behavioral and physical indicators of abuse and understand how patterns of concern may present in dental healthcare settings.

• Apply appropriate communication techniques to support patients and gather information when abuse is suspected.

• Understand legal, ethical, and documentation responsibilities, including mandated reporting requirements and proper escalation procedures.
