Training is designed to educate healthcare providers (HCP) on the requirements, recognition, and management of life-threatening allergic reactions in accordance with Ontario's Sabrina's Law.

What you will learn:

  • Understanding the purpose, scope, and legal requirements of Sabrina's Law in healthcare settings

  • Identifying common triggers and symptoms of life-threatening allergies including food and non-food allergens

  • Recognizing the pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of anaphylaxis

  • Implementing immediate emergency response protocols for severe allergic reactions

  • Properly administering epinephrine and understanding its critical role in anaphylaxis management

  • Understanding healthcare providers' legal responsibilities and duties under Sabrina's Law

  • Developing comprehensive, individualized allergy management plans for at-risk patients

  • Creating effective allergen avoidance strategies and emergency action protocols

  • Training caregivers and staff in allergy recognition and emergency response procedures

  • Implementing ongoing monitoring, documentation, and follow-up care for patients with severe allergies

Once completed, you will receive a certificate of completion to verify your participation in this activity. Course length: 1 hour & 15 minutes; CME: 1.25.
