Bariatric Patient Transfer and Mobilization Training

The following Bariatric Patient Transfer and Mobilization Training course is designed to educate healthcare providers (HCP) on how to safely and effectively transfer and mobilize bariatric patients. This training emphasizes injury prevention, patient dignity, and adherence to safe patient handling and mobility (SPHM) standards through the use of specialized equipment, teamwork, and bias-free care practices.

What you will learn:

• Introduction to bariatric patient handling

  • The importance of SPHM in protecting staff and patients

• Dynamic Risk Assessment (T-I-L-E)

• No-lift and minimal-lift policies

• Safe use of bariatric-specific equipment

• Air-assisted and friction-reducing devices

• Competency validation and hands-on practice

• Patient dignity and bias-free care

• Emergency preparedness for bariatric patients

Once completed, you will receive a certificate of completion to verify you have finished the training. Course Length: 1.25 hours; CME: 1.25 CME
