The following Active Shooter Response Training for Healthcare Providers is designed to educate healthcare providers (HCP) on key active shooter response principles, including recognizing danger, communicating information, securing a location, evacuating when safe, and taking last-resort protective action if escape is not possible.
Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to:

Recognize indicators of an active shooter threat and respond promptly using appropriate protective actions based on immediate conditions.

Apply appropriate sheltering or evacuation strategies during an active shooter event based on the safest available course of action.

Respond to injuries following an active shooter event by using basic first aid measures when conditions allow safe assistance.

Strategies to distract the shooter if evacuation is not possible

The best practices for safely evacuating the area

How to make quick decisions during an active shooter event

Once completed, you will receive a certificate of completion to verify you have finished the training. Course Length: 1 hour.
