What You Will Learn:

  • Define Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD) and describe their key clinical features, prevalence, and demographic trends.

  • Differentiate between Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias such as Lewy body dementia, vascular dementia, and frontotemporal dementia.

  • Explain the stages of Alzheimer’s progression and identify common symptoms at each stage.

  • Recognize the psychosocial impacts of ADRD, including behavioral changes, caregiver burden, and social isolation.

  • Discuss the importance of early diagnosis and outline available diagnostic tools, treatments, and interventions.

  • Evaluate strategies to enhance quality of life for individuals with dementia through person-centered and supportive care practices.

  • Identify caregiver challenges and apply evidence-based approaches for caregiver education, self-care, and stress management.

  • Analyze public health approaches, community-based interventions, and dementia-friendly environmental designs that support affected individuals and families.
